In collaboration with a paper artist, this tea space reinterprets “Song Dynasty aesthetics” in a contemporary setting. Inspired by The West Lake Landscape Painting, the design translates the picturesque scenery of West Lake into a physical spatial experience. The public area is structured with screen partitions that mimic mountain forms, creating dynamic circulation and defined areas. The integration of varying partition scales with subtly elevated platforms evokes the sensation of meandering through mountains. The interplay of paper and stone materials further enhances the poetic ambiance.
